Sightings in Portland

There’s something unusual in the Portland, Oregon skies.

According to the National UFO Reporting Center, there have been a flurry of reports about a mysterious flying object seen in the skies over Portland on April 29.

Witnesses said they saw “two groups of brightly lighted objects, seen moving over the downtown area of Portland, where they reportedly hovered briefly, and then disappeared to the south. Shortly after the first sighting, a second formation of similar objects was seen,” according to the web site.

The site couldn’t divulge any further details about the sightings until they receive more reports, but if you have one about this sighting, you can file a report on their hotline at (206-722-3000) or online at http://www.ufocenter.com/reportform.html.

Ohio-to-Conway Sighting Passes 40th Anniversary

Forty years ago on May 2nd, police officer Frank Panzanella saw something very strange in the Economy, Pennsylvania skies.

In 1966, a woman reported seeing a UFO in Summit County, Ohio, but as the report went around the radio, officers laughed about it. Later that night, two Portage County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to investigate an abandoned vehicle call and as they checked on the vehicle, something strange hovered in the sky in front of them and they chased after it.

Other patrol cars joined in the chase all the way to Pennsylvania when they called the Air Force base in Conway for assistance. But by then, the mysterious object shot straight up into the sky and vanished. Panzanella gave this description, posted at Ufologie.net

“The object was the shape of half a football, was very bright and about 25 to 35 feet in diameter…. The object continued to go upward until it got as small as a ballpoint pen. Relative to the moon, the object was quite distant and to the left of the moon. We all four watched the object shoot straight up and disappear.”

UFO Hacker Faces Extradition

A British man that crime computer experts called “the biggest military hack of all time” faces extradition to the US for his crime.

How does this relate to UFOs and aliens, oh devoted reader? Well, he claims he was hacking military systems that he was looking for conclusive proof of UFOs and that the government was covering it up.

He’s also claiming that his prosecution and trial are just designed to cover up what he found, if he found anything at all. Prosecutors allege deleted system files and logs from computers at US naval weapon station Earle at a critical time following the September 11 attacks, rendering the base’s entire network of more than 300 computers inoperable.

UFOs a Natural Occurance?

Could UFOs be spacecraft from far off planets sent to explore the Earth or take it over for their control or could it just natural forces playing tricks on our minds?

Great Britain’s Ministry of Defense confirmed this week that a report completed almost five years ago called “Unidentified Aerial Phenomena in the UK Air Defence Region” that claims there is no conclusive proof to show that UFO sightings are nothing more than natural phenomenon being mistaken for UFOs.

“No evidence exists to suggest that the phenomena seen are hostile or under any type of control, other than that of natural physical forces,” according to the report in a story published by the Reuters news service. “Evidence suggests that meteors and their well-known effects, and possibly some other less-known effects, are responsible for some unidentified aerial phenomena.”

Could this burst the bubble of conspiracy lovers everywhere? Well, hold on to your butts because we’re not out of Kansas yet, Dorothy. The full 400 page report won’t go public until May 15 when the Ministry of Defense posts it on their web site. Stay tuned to this blog for a Cliffs Notes version of it.
